Built From a Life Around the Garage

Hill Works LLC started long before it had a name. It started in the garage.

My father was a mechanical engineer, and he was always building, fixing, designing, or figuring something out. Like many young boys, I became my father’s shadow. If he was in the garage, I wanted to be there too. I watched, listened, handed him tools, asked questions, and slowly picked up the same pull toward making things with my hands.

That early time in the garage shaped the way I see furniture, lighting, shelving, and decor. I have always been drawn to pieces that feel mechanical, useful, rugged, and real. Wood grain, steel, patina, bolts, welds, tools, automotive parts, and shop-built details all have a story to them.

I am a veteran and was also a local school teacher here in Florida. Those parts of my life still show up in the way I work: patience, problem-solving, clear communication, and a respect for doing things with purpose.

Today, I spend my time in the shop building pieces that bring that same garage-built character into homes, shops, studios, tattoo spaces, markets, and work areas. Hill Works LLC is about taking industrial, automotive, gothic, and handmade ideas and turning them into furniture, lighting, shelving, tattoo client caddies, wall art, and custom builds that do not look mass-produced.

Every piece is built with a hands-on approach. Some are ready-to-buy items, and others are made to order. Custom colors, graphics, shop names, themes, sizes, and finishes are available when the build allows it.
